Ingredients for Dodha Barfi

  • Mixed dry fruits – 1/2 cup

  • Ghee – 4 tablespoon

  • Sugar – 300 gm

  • Water – 8 tablespoon

  • Milk – 4 liter

  • Alum – 1/4 teaspoon

  • Glucose – 4 tablespoon

Method to make Dodha Barfi

  • Let’s start with chopping the dry fruits and mix them in a bowl and keep it aside.
  • Now take a deep pan and put it on the flame. Add milk in it. Wait for a boil.
  • Once milk starts boiling, add sugar with alum in boiled milk.
  • Time to lower the flame and let the milk simmer till it starts getting thicker or half in quantity.
  • Then add glucose in the milk and stir well.
  • Time to add ghee in the milk and cook for next 10-15 minutes. You will notice that ghee will start leaving the sides of the pan.
  • By this time, the mixture will turn dark in color. Add some water and stir again.
  • The Mixture needs to be cook for two minutes
  • Meanwhile, take a metal plate and grease it well with ghee.
  • Once done, convert the mixture to the plate and spread it evenly with the help of the spatula or big knife. Dressing with chopped mixed dry fruits and refrigerate for 5 – 6 hours.
  • Take out once it is set properly and cut it into the desired shape.
  • Your Dodha barfi is ready.
